Cada d\u00eda iba a buscar agua con un botijo en cada mano y ten\u00eda que atravesar el r\u00edo. Como \u00e9ste ten\u00eda crecidas repentinas, resultaba que cada a\u00f1o desaparec\u00eda alguna criada.<\/p>\n<p>La Poneta no quer\u00eda correr la misma suerte, y, al estar la iglesia lejos, no pod\u00eda cumplir con sus preceptos dominicales.<\/p>\n<p>Supli\u00f3 al Se\u00f1or y al cura sin conseguir nada. Un viejo cazador le dijo que podr\u00eda solucionarlo poni\u00e9ndose en contacto con el pr\u00edncipe de las tinieblas. \u00c9ste, el demonio, le prometi\u00f3 hacerle un puente y una iglesia antes de que cantara el gallo a cambio de su alma. Hecho el pacto, el demonio se puso a construir lo prometido.<\/p>\n<p>La espabilada Poneta cogi\u00f3 una luz y se fue al gallinero. Los gallos, pensando que se hac\u00eda de d\u00eda, se pusieron a cantar mientras el demonio todav\u00eda estaba haciendo el campanario.
